NORTHEAST GRAD WINTER RETREAT 2021 - OVERVIEW

You’re invited to join us for a 24-hour personal spiritual retreat as we learn from the Book of Nehemiah and gather with other graduate students across the Northeast.

The Book of Nehemiah is a story about starting over again. Following the recent trauma of exile, Israel turns to God in prayer and receives a call to rebuild the fallen walls of Jerusalem. It is a call to overcome shame and despair and to participation in renewal. It is a call to the Common Good, the theme for this year’s retreat.

As 2020 comes to an end and as we continue to wait for a vaccine, perhaps you are longing for a fresh start? Perhaps you have broken walls that need rebuilding? Perhaps you are longing for renewal?

We will gather together in large groups to worship and learn from Anna Lee-Winans as she leads us into reflection on the story of Nehemiah. We will have a guided morning quiet time, small groups by schools, optional corporate prayer and one-on-one prayer ministry.  We will also have afternoon seminars that will explore ways we can participate in the common good in our graduate context.  You'll also receive a care package in the mail!

Nehemiah reminds us that exile is not the end of the story. It reminds us that God is bringing renewal to and through those who seek him and respond to his call to the common good. Join us
